No streaks, and nothing to buy back
The single most common complaint about streak-based widget apps is the pressure, and the second is paying to undo it. noteit's App Store listing includes an in-app purchase called Streak Repair.
Twin Draw has no streaks at all. There is no counter, no broken-heart overlay on your partner's drawing, and nothing is hidden or deleted if you don't draw for a month. Your saved drawings stay exactly where they are. There is nothing to repair because there is nothing to break.
Two people, not a friend group
noteit is a bff widget: you add girlfriends, boyfriends or best friends. That is genuinely what some people want, and if it is what you want, noteit does it better than Twin Draw will.
Twin Draw pairs one account with exactly one other account. There is no feed, no follower count and no group canvas. The upside is that four of its five widgets can assume there is one other person: their local time with a sleep indicator, your days together, a countdown to your next reunion, and the distance between your two cities.
Free, with no subscription and no ads
Drawing together, saving your drawings and browsing your shared sketchbook are all free in Twin Draw, and there is no subscription tier to unlock any of it. There is no advertising in the app and no third-party analytics. Your data sits on Google Firebase in the EU region.
Where noteit is the better choice
noteit is a much larger, much more established app — 4.8 stars from around 99,000 ratings, against a few hundred users here. It sends photos as well as drawings; Twin Draw sends drawings only and never asks for photo library access. It works with a whole group of friends, while Twin Draw is strictly for two. It supports an older iOS. And its interface is more widely localised: Twin Draw's app is English-only for now, even though this page isn't. If any of that matters to you, stay where you are.
