Twin Draw

iPhone widget · long distance

Their time zone, on your home screen.

If you have ever worked out whether it's too late to text, you want this on your home screen rather than in your head. Twin Draw's Partner's time widget shows your partner's local clock, and quietly tells you when they're inside the sleep hours they set.

The clock, and whether they're asleep

The widget reads your partner's time from their device's UTC offset, so it follows them when they travel and handles daylight saving without you thinking about it. Each of you sets your own sleep window, and when they're inside theirs the widget says so — which is the part a world clock can't do.

That one detail is the difference between knowing it's 06:40 where they are and knowing whether a message would wake them.

It comes with the rest of the set

The time widget isn't a standalone app. It ships with Twin Draw, whose main feature is a shared drawing canvas that lands on both of your home screens, plus three more long-distance widgets: the days you've been together, a countdown to your next reunion, and the distance between your two cities.

All five are free, and you can put as many or as few of them on your home screen as you like.

What it doesn't do

It shows one person's time, not a set of cities — if you need a multi-city world clock, iOS already has one and it's better at that job. It needs your partner to have the app and to be paired with you, which means both of you need an iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The app's interface is English-only for now.

Questions

Is there a widget that shows my partner's time zone?

Yes. Twin Draw's Partner's time widget shows your partner's local clock on your iPhone home screen, taken from their device's UTC offset, and indicates when they are inside the sleep hours they set. It is free and requires iOS 17 or later on both sides.

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. The time comes from your partner's device, so it follows their actual local time including daylight saving changes and any travel.

Does the widget need my location?

No. Twin Draw never requests location access. The clock uses your partner's UTC offset, and the separate distance widget uses a city each of you picks from a fixed list.

How do I know when not to message them?

Each person sets their own sleep hours in the app. When your partner is inside theirs, the Partner's time widget shows a quiet indicator alongside their clock, so you can see at a glance that a message would arrive at a bad moment.
